Confessions

1. I adore Taylor Swift, I can't help myself. Apparently I'm a fifteen year old girl.

2. I'm currently reading a book about the women who wrote Nancy Drew. And I'm really, really enjoying it.

3. I'm addicted to America's Next Top Model. I think that show is fascinating.

4. America's Next Top Model is probably not the most embarrassing thing I watch on television. I'm not telling you what is.

5. Despite the America's Next Top Model thing, my favorite radio station is NPR.

6. I'm probably never going to catch up on my email.

7. I have fleeting moments of confidence as a parent but I mostly feel like I'm winging it and barely hanging on to my sanity. I often worry that I'm doing a terrible job.

8. I own three seasons of Fraggle Rock on DVD, and I asked for the fourth season for my birthday/Christmas. I am a child of the 80's.

GOSSIP GIRL.

(Don't be embarrassed. I watch it too. And apparently so does 56% of the populus.)

I hear you on #7. I'd like to blog about that some day. My mother always seemed (still does) have so much more confidence in parenting, and it kind of bothers me. Really it just makes me feel like I don't know what I'm doing.

Oh, oh #8! Love it! I have the complete series on DVD! It's fantastic. Zachariah will only let me watch it every so often though. I haven't even come close to watching one whole season yet. (And I've had it for a year.)

I like Taylor Swift too.

I LOVE Taylor Swift... even had someone let me know when she came on the CMAs last night. Her and DMB are all I watched. But shhhhh... don't tell anyone.

You must have watched the CMAs last night - Taylor was adorable, wasn't she? :) And I am completely addicted to American's Next Top model as well. And apparently not having a huge selection of reality TV to choose from while in Germany, I have been sucked in to some of the most horrible TV shows that I have ever seen but can't seem to stop watching - The Hills, The City, The Real Housewives of Orange County and I am ashamed to say the list goes on and on.... :) Hope you are doing well! I love reading your updates! :)

Hah. Well, who doesn't love Taylor Swift? Even my husband, who literally takes NO INTEREST in pop culture, saw her on a commercial for SNL the other day, which she was hosting and COMMENTED. Specifically, he said in response to my remark that her eyes looked like a cat's, "Nothin' wrong with that!"
When I pressed, needling him, "Oh, is she cute? You think she's cute?" he's like, "She's weird looking, kind of, but it's a good weird. It works."
And, you know, she does have some musical talent and songwriting skilz and all! But mainly it's the cat eyes.

Obviously please. ANTM is awesome. (Unfortunately, I fell asleep before last night's episode came on.)

In regards to #7, if it helps, I think we all feel that way. And also -- I have personally seen your parenting in action and know for a FACT that you do a great job. Which doesn't mean that evey day is great/easy, but your heart is in the right place.

Is Harper feeling better? Love you mucho.

Those confessions could have been mine (with some minor tweaking), and now I know why I like you so much! (Okay, not that I didn't know before, but you get what I mean, I hope!).

Hope you guys are all well!

I don't watch tv very often and don't listen to country music....hell, when do I ever get to listen to music of my choice....but I am TOTALLY with you on #7. Aren't we all just blubbering along?

I wonder if it's just our generation that's all upset about our parenting? Because I am pretty sure my grandparents' generation didn't think about it (my grandmother was TOTALLY BEWILDERED when I asked her about it), and my parents' generation didn't seem to turn their eyes away from their own fascinating honest open groovy being-themselves selves long enough to worry about whether they were doing a GOOD JOB or not.

My email. Gah.
