Update From Afar

Hi everyone! This is Erin, Kelsey's friend, updating her blog to let you know why she's suddenly gone quiet.

First off, everyone is OKAY. However, Kelsey is in the hospital due to some prenatal complications. The baby boy remains in place, thank goodness, but Kelsey might remain in the hospital for a while, possibly for the remainder of pregnancy. She is just focusing on keeping that baby inside for a while longer.

She is on bedrest, in good spirits, but missing her family, her home, and also her internet connection. She might have internet by the end of the week, thanks to her brother Jamie. Hopefully she'll be updating this herself soon. (Drums fingers impatiently) (Uh, no pressure, Jamie.)

In the meantime, join me in sending all sorts of good thoughts and prayers out to her and her family. And leave a comment for her! She'll get it soon and appreciates all the well wishes she can get.

Thanks!!

Okay, I wasn't expecting that at all.

Kelsey, my thoughts and prayers are definitely with you from this moment that all will be well with both of you very soon. I'm glad to know that you and baby boy are getting the best care and close monitoring. Bake that baby as long as you can and know that so many people (even virtual people like myself)are very concerned about you and pulling for you!

Take heart in your faith, your family and friends and know that we're all here for you! Hope to hear from you again soon.

Thanks Erin for the update.

Best wishes, Kelsey. Take care of yourself and that baby boy. I will be praying for you. This makes me want to jump in a car and drive down there to see you. Seriously, if you don't mind, you can e-mail me your home address or hospital address and I'd love to send you a care package (especially if you're going to be stuck for a while, you poor thing). Anyway, lots of thoughts and prayers and well wishes your way.

Came over from Swistle to send you good wishes. I went through the same thing - went into hospital for a routine pre-natal check at 34 weeks and they wouldn't let me out again! The resulting lump of boy turns 10 years old on Monday. It'll be worth it! Good luck.

Thinking of you both. Hang in there.

I also hopped over from Swistle. Bummer having to be in the hospital longer than normal! But they'll take good care of you and that baby. Be strong, dont' eat the Jello. ;)

Swistle sent me. Take care of yourself and that baby. I know it can't be easy. I'm at 30.5 weeks and bedrest is very likely in my near/immediate future.

I'm here from Swistle and on bed rest too. Email me if you want to commiserate. Just got home from the hospital Saturday and I'm 32 weeks today.

Hope your spirits are up. Hang in there.

Sending prayers up for you and the baby. Hope the hospital food isn't too yukky and they cater to some of your cravings!

It's scary stuff being in the hospital on bed rest and not much fun at all. Hopefully, the food isn't too bad and you've been able to avoid magnesium sulfate. I delivered our triplets at just shy of 31 weeks (30w6d) and although they spent 6 weeks in the NICU, they are healthy, happy, perfect little kids who are ALMOST potty trained!!

Good thoughts & prayers coming your way. Enjoy your rest while you can! :)

Oh, bedrest- been there done that. Yuck. And scary, too, along with boring. Bad combo! I hope you can go home soon, and that any pre-labor stuff settles down pronto! If you have to stay in bed till baby comes, make sure to have people rent you lots of movies.

Hi, Kels! I've been praying for you all week as Erin's been keeping me in the loop. I hope you can come home soon and be with your family, and that Baby Boy stays put for a while longer. I'm so sorry that all this is happening - how tough! Stay well and hopefully I will talk to you soon!

Thoughts and prayers comin at ya from Virginia. I was on bedrest with both of my girls and went into early early labor with both. Placenta issues, the whole bit. But they're both happy and healthy! Just as your sweet baby will be!! Hang in there!

Kelsey,

Bedrest SUCKS, but it is totally worth it to keep that baby safe. I was on bedrest with my second pg. for a partial placental abruption, but successcully delivered a healthy baby girl at 38 weeks. You and baby boy will be in our prayers...hang in there!

Kelsey,

We tune in for updates on occasion and were surprised to hear this news. Hospital stays can be overwhelming and scary as well as mind-numbingly boring. We hope your docs and nurses are as helpful as can be and that you and baby are getting the best care possible. Try your best to rest and hopefully time won't tick too slowly.

Grow baby grow!

Hey Kelsey! I'm praying for you--and your sanity!! Just remember that if there's stuff going on, the hospital is the best place to be! I can't relate but I'll send you all the sympathy and good wishes that I can! Hang in there!!
