Heigh-Ho

This morning I woke up, got dressed, and went to work! How crazy is that?

We don't have students at my school until next week so I've been doing a lot of organizing of my room. It started out looking sparse but very clean.

This was taken one day last week when Michael came
to "help" me at school.

Then I realized I was never going to know what was in all of those tall cabinets unless I took it out and put it back in a way that made sense to me. Things got worse...

By the end of the day today it was about 1/2 put away. I also attended my orientation, met one of my students (her mom brought her in to get some paperwork from the office), and did a lot of deep breathing.

Harper and Michael start school tomorrow. Last night we all went mini-golfing after dinner. One last family activity before our summer comes to an end.

After school today I ran home to get the kids and we all met Matt up at Harper's meet-the-teacher night. Then it was quick dinner, baths, and kids in bed. I've been up doing paperwork for Harper's school, readying lunches (I forgot how I detest that), and making mental lists of everything that needs to happen tomorrow. With any luck I'll remember at least half of it!

Oh...that looks like a lot of work. I can't believe how big your classroom is...and you have how many students? And you get to work with your good friends again? I can totally see why you are going back. I'm excited for you. I hope your family slips into the new routine quickly and painlessly! Best wishes!

Good luck with the start of the new year. I'm sure it will go great. We start in two weeks, and I know I still have stuff to do before Z is ready for that.

Kelsey,
I was just thinking of you and your return to the classroom. I loved the caption about Michael coming to your classroom to "help". Ah, I know that feeling well! And packing lunches? I haven't missed that one bit this summer! I'm going in a few days this week to set up my classroom, hopefully without the help of our 4boys!

I hope Harper and Michael had a great start to the school year. And I hope you will, too!

So good to see your posts of going back to work and getting your room ready. We had a great first grade teacher, but i would have LOVED to have had someone like you! Teaching is an amazing gift and I'm glad you're able to give it again. It may be hard to balance your new work/home situation, but as long as you can enjoy work it will all be worth it! Good luck!

Seeing the photos of your classroom makes me get that tingly feeling I liked about teaching. Can't wait to hear about your adventures...next summer....when you have time again! ;)
